Penang Chinese Town Hall registrar of marriage Lim Choo Hooi said the number of wedding registrations is expected to pick up in the eighth month of the lunar calendar.
“We expect the numbers to go up soon, especially in the eighth month of the lunar calendar, which is a good month for the Chinese. Che Hoon Khor Moral Uplifting Society honorable secretary Choong Yit Chuan said they expect a surge in numbers for wedding registration since the announcement was made recently.
