PETALING JAYA: The Sungai Semenyih water treatment plant is still inoperative more than 24 hours after it was shut down following an odour pollution in Sungai Semenyih from a sewage plant.
PETALING JAYA: The Sungai Semenyih water treatment plant is still inoperative more than 24 hours after it was shut down following an odour pollution in Sungai Semenyih stemming from a sewage plant.
"Stop-work order at both plants have affected supply to 336,930 units in 366 areas," he said in a statement.Indah Water Konsortium and relevant agencies including Lembaga Urus Air Selangor are clearing odour-causing effluent from manholes near the sewage treatment plant.Operations at the treatment plants can only be resumed when the level of pollution is reduced to zero.
However, people affected by the disruption in water supply can get water at 11 one-stop service centres and public taps round-the-clock. The locations of these service centres are listed on Air Selangor's Facebook page.
