‘Morale booster’: Opposition received ‘respectable swing’ in Dunkley by-election
Bondi Partners Senior Advisor Peter McGauran says the Opposition received a “morale booster” with their “respectable swing” in the Dunkley by-election.
Labor retained the Victorian federal seat of Dunkley during last week’s by-election with their candidate Jodie Belyea, despite a 3.56 per cent swing to Liberal candidate Nathan Conroy. “The Liberals wanted to do better, there’s no question … but it was a respectable swing to them of four per cent,” Mr McGauran told Sky News Australia.“At the same time, the government is entitled to think that their strategies are generally working.”
