NARCAN SAVES LIVES | This is a message the Wayne Township Fire Department is sharing. It is also the message that mother and daughter duo Jacki and Sarah shared with WRTV.
INDIANAPOLIS — A mother used Narcan to save her daughters life, but it wasn't the first time she was saved by it.Her mother, Jacki, performed CPR as she waiting for medics to arrive.The paramedics administered three doses of Narcan and revived Sarah.
Sarah learned for the first time what Narcan was. As a precaution she got her hands on it from a 'Naloxbox' vending machine at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.That wasn't Sarah's last brush with death. Just days later, Jacki would find her daughter on the bathroom floor barely breathing.The Narcan revived Sarah again.Sarah's struggled with addiction for several years, starting early life.Those pills turned into a decades-long battle of addiction.
The same type of opioid overdose tool kit Sarah's mom used to get her hands on the life saving drug can now be found across the state.
