Molex's new MMCX Power over Coax (PoC) solution features a patent-pending mating technique designed to ensure secure and stable connections while maintaining electrical ground continuity.
Molex , a global leader in electronics and connectivity, has announced the launch of its innovative MMCX Power over Coax (PoC) solution. This new product features a patent-pending mating technique designed to ensure secure and stable connections while maintaining electrical ground continuity.
The solution is particularly well-suited for applications where space is limited and reliable RF connections and continuous power delivery are crucial, such as automotive LCD mirrors, driver monitoring systems, and industrial sensors. \One of the key advantages of the MMCX PoC solution is its ability to address the persistent reliability problems associated with traditional MMCX plug connectors. These connectors can sometimes cause signal interruptions and inconsistent power levels. Molex's new solution incorporates a full-locking mating mechanism that eliminates this weakness, ensuring a more robust and dependable connection. Moreover, the MMCX PoC solution is backward compatible with IEC 61169-52 MMCX jack receptacles, making it easy to integrate into existing systems. This compatibility simplifies product upgrades and reduces the need for major infrastructure changes, saving time and costs for customers. \The compact design of the MMCX PoC solution, which is 30% smaller than traditional MMC connectors, makes it ideal for replacing larger and heavier MCX connectors. Its space-efficient nature aligns with the growing demand for miniaturization in various industries. The MMCX PoC solution also streamlines product designs and reduces system complexity by eliminating the need for separate power and data connectors. This simplification is particularly beneficial in applications where space is at a premium. \The MMCX PoC solution is currently being tested and deployed in a range of agriculture, automotive, and industrial automation applications. Its versatility extends to other fields, including remote and mobile devices, unmanned aerial vehicles, portable electronics, smart-home automation systems, and IoT sensors and infrastructure. The solution also meets the stringent reliability requirements for GPS antennas, intelligent transport management systems, wireless meter readers, and more. Molex's MMCX PoC right-angle and straight-plug cable assemblies are available for various cable types, including RG178, Condumex RG174LL, RG316, and Dacar 462.
