Josh Woods, elected in July to represent District 6 on the council, talks about his first month in office and city services for annexed residents.
Woods is a native of Mobile and executive director of The Grounds, a fairgrounds venue. He lives in District 6 with his wife and three children. Here, he discusses his priorities heading into his first year on the council and what the newly annexed residents are looking for.How have your first few weeks [in office] been?
Really, they’ve been great. They’re kind of like, at first, drinking from a firehose, because there’s so much information you have to take in, so many folks you have to meet within city government and so many things that you have to learn. Really, it’s starting to kind of slow down and I’m starting to process it, and finally finding a groove of how best to serve to serve the constituents of District 6.
