Mo season 2 has been renewed by Netflix, giving the comedy show its final run of episodes.
Netflix has renewed Mo season 2, which will be its last. Debuting in August 2022, the single-camera comedy series focuses on series lead Mo Amer as a fictionalized version of himself. Amer plays Mo Najjar, a Palestinian refugee who is perpetually just one step away from obtaining asylum in the U.S.

Now, according to Variety, Netflix has renewed Mo for a second and final season. Amer, who co-created the series with Ramy Youssef, shared in a statement that he was thankful for the opportunity to tell a universal story that related to so many refugees and to bring this chapter of Mo Najjar's story to a close.
In addition to its uniformly excellent ensemble, Mo earned praise for the fact that it genuinely lives up to its billing as a comedy. At a time when a lot of half-hour series hue more to a dramatic side, earning the moniker of 'sadcoms', the Netflix show leads with humor. This is evident in an early episode, which shows how the main character hustles to make his money. It's also evident in the relationships and patterns that begin to emerge between the different characters.
At a time when Netflix is canceling high-profile dramas like 1899, as well as reversing its already announced renewals, like several other streamers and networks, the future of Mo was never guaranteed. It could have easily been a one-season show that wrapped without resolution. But with this news, hopefully the acclaimed comedy will get to finish on satisfying terms. And at just eight episodes that rarely stretch past the thirty-minute mark, perhaps it can get some new fans along the way.
