As fears of a second wave of coronavirus cases become more widespread and new cases are beginning to creep up in many areas of the country, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin
Thursday morning that shutting down the United States economy is not an option because of the damage it will cause. ... [+]“We can’t shut down the economy again. I think we’ve learned that if you shut down the economy, you’re going to create more damage,” Mnuchin said. He also said that damage wouldn’t just be limited to the economy, but would also include medical procedures and “everything else that got put on hold.”
