Docherty had previously served as speaker of the assembly and was a cabinet minister for parks, culture and sport. His departure is expected to result in a byelection within six months, according to a statement from the Saskatchewan Party.Article content “Serving and building community are at the heart of who I am and I look forward to continuing that important work in new ways,” he stated.
