This figure exceeded 87.2 per cent of the export target set for 2025 under the Mid-Term Review of the 12th Malaysia Plan , it added. Palm oil and related agricultural products, metal-manufactured goods, and rubber products also contributed to the overall growth.Despite challenges posed by a tough global economic climate, Miti, alongside the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation , said it remains committed to bolstering international trade as a cornerstone of sustainable long-term economic growth.

Malaysia's Trade Surges to Record High in 2024Malaysia's total trade value for January to November 2024 soared by 8.7% year-on-year to RM2.62 trillion, marking the highest value for this period, according to Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz. He highlighted that 50% of the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030) has been implemented since its launch in 2023, including the National Semiconductor Strategy (NSS) and the Green Investment Strategy (GIS). Approved investments reached RM254.7 billion, a 10.7% year-on-year increase in the first nine months of 2024. Almost 160,000 new jobs are expected to be created from nearly 4,800 approved projects, a 76% year-on-year growth in job creation and 21% in project approvals.
