Miss South Africa, Mia le Roux, has officially set off for Mexico on Sunday to compete in the 73rd Miss Universe pageant on 16 November.
Le Roux will make history as the first-ever deaf contestant to represent South Africa at the pageant, with Le Roux on a mission to showcase the country’s diversity as well as to promote inclusivity on the global stage.The Instagram accounts of Miss South Africa and Le Roux treated fans to some stunning photos on the platform of the 28-year-old dressed in an elegant red ensemble by designer Juan William Aria.
Her campaign focuses on social issues, advocating for gender equality and inspiring communities to support projects that emphasise inclusivity. Her mission? To collaborate with government bodies, corporations and NGOs to fund cochlear implants and lead inclusive projects that empower the deaf community.
