Texas bolstered its defensive line by landing a commitment from Minnesota transfer Trill Carter.

The 6-foot-2, 300-pound interior lineman spent his first four college seasons with the Golden Gophers.
The addition of Carter should bolster Texas’ line, which lost All-Big 12 second-team nose tackle Keondre Coburn and impactful defensive tackle Moro Ojomo, the conference’s highest-graded defender in 2022 per Pro Football Focus. The Longhorns led the nation in total quarterback pressures last season but ranked 77th nationally with 2.08 sacks per game. Sarkisian would like to see more of those pressures end with a sack in 2023.
