“Additionally, visits abroad are also part of investment and trade promotion missions aimed at attracting foreign direct investment to enhance the country’s economy,” she said in a parliamentary written reply to Masjid Tanah MP Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin from Bersatu.

Malaysia recently signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the UAE, its first FTA with a Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member. Negotiations for FTAs with the European Union and South Korea have also resumed.
