PUTRAJAYA: The political secretary to Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Salahuddin Ayub has been remanded for four days over allegations that he received a bribe in the form of a luxury watch. Magistrate Ahmad Asyraf Mohamed Kamal allowed the remand application sought by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission for investigations under Section 16 of the MACC Act.

The 47-year-old man arrived at the Magistrate’s Court here at 9.13am, dressed in MACC lock-up attire.Salahuddin, who confirmed the arrest, said he would not intervene in MACC’s probe. The man is believed to have accepted a RM28,000 watch as an inducement to enable a project developer to be awarded projects under the minister’s purview.
