ThisWeek previews the OHSAA cross country regional meets for central Ohio athletes and teams.

Hilliard Davidson girls cross country coach Nate King hasn’t forgotten the disappointment of his team finishing second to Dublin Coffman in the Division I regional meet a season ago.Davidson will look to atone for that finish at regional Oct. 29 at Pickerington North. The top five teams and top 20 individuals advance to state Nov. 5 at Fortress Obetz.

Individually, Davidson’s Caitlyn Jones , Jerome’s Helen Randolph and Mount Vernon’s Sophie Zoldak each finished first at district.On the boys side, the top regional title contenders figure to be Coffman, defending champion Davidson, Jerome, Lancaster and Pickerington North. Coffman, Lancaster and North won district titles.

Ricchiuti also is looking to overtake regional favorite Connor Ackley of Davidson for the individual title. Ackley has won the last two regional titles, including in 16:26.0 last year as Ricchiuti was fourth . For the girls, Granville easily won the district 1 race ahead of second-place Bexley , and the Blue Aces’ Zoee Lehman took the individual title.
