Support our high school sports coverage by becoming a digital subscriber.VALENCIA — In the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 4 playoffs Long Beach Millikan defeated Saugus 49-21 behind four touchdown passes from quarterback Myles Jackson. Millikan will now move to the second round and take on Cypress.

Jackson finished the game 15 of 23 with 230 yards and the four passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown. “I wasn’t expecting to go in and dominate like that.” said Millikan linebacker Matthew Robinson. “You know they came out with that one good play and the defense shut them down after that.” The Millikan offense worked very fast and efficiently with lots of quick passes and short routes to get their dynamic playmakers in open space. Pellum and Anderson both had two touchdown receptions for Millikan and running back Jaden Hunt also scored at the end of the first quarter.
