Other fan theories reference specific lyrics in the first verse — “Built a home and watched it burn” — that seem to be a direct acknowledgement of the Malibu fires of 2018, whento the Southern California disaster. Fans also point out another lyric right before the chorus — “Mm, I didn't wanna leave you, I didn't wanna lie” — that seems to reveal it was Liam who made the final decision to break up.
