By 2030, Basic Education schools of the Ateneo de Manila University will start implementing the full co-education scheme.
This move, he explained, is in “response to our goal in the Lux-in-Domino Strategic Plan: Strategic targeted growth in the university’s student population to increase access to and impact of the Ateneo de Manila education.” Related to this, Yap stressed that “much work is needed” to prepare the Basic Education schools for this “milestone decision.”“Co-ed admission will begin in SY 2024-2025 for Kinder, Grade 1 and Grade 7 levels,” he added.
This action of the Board, he added, concludes the six-month study and consultation conducted by the project team composed of Fr. Joaquin Jose Mari C. Sumpaico III, SJ ; Dr. Jaime Jose G. Nicdao ; Dr. Maria Regina M. Hechanova; Dr. Helen U. Amante; Maria Rosario R. Arespacochaga; Rosanna M. Borja; and Paula M. Quodala
