Vice President Mike Pence wagged his finger at Democratic presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg, but also suggested he is biting his tongue – for now.
WASHINGTON – Vice President Mike Pence wagged his finger at Democratic presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg in a Fox News interview that aired Monday, but also suggested he is biting his tongue – for now.
"It was just as disappointing when Joe Biden referred to me as a decent guy and was attacked by those who differ with my conservative values and he had to recant that," Pence said. The South Bend, Indiana, mayor also made headlines by saying in a speech last month that he wishes the “Mike Pences” of the world would understand that he didn’t choose to be gay.
"Well, Pete Buttigieg and I had a good relationship when I was governor and he was serving as mayor in the state of Indiana," Pence said in the Fox News interview."And, look, you know, I wish him well." Spoke to @ShannonBream about the rise of religious persecution at home &abroad. From the burning of 3 historically black churches in Louisiana, to attacks on churches in Sri Lanka, mosques in New Zealand, & 2 synagogues in the US —persecution of people of faith must be condemned. pic.twitter.com/1HfrJkXBgm
