House Speaker Mike Johnson claimed that significant progress is being made in the House's investigation into President Joe Biden.
In an appearance on Fox News Sunday, Johnson gave an update on the House's progress in the Biden impeachment probe. While he pledged to follow the truth where it led them, he gave the indication that that path could lead to an impeachment of the president."We're the rule of law team," Johnson said."We don't use this for political partisan games like the Democrats have done and did against Donald Trump twice.
"I look forward to rolling that out over the coming days and weeks and letting the American people see exactly why we're taking the next steps and where it's headed," he added. Johnson stressed that the House is pursuing leads"aggressively" and that the United States public is"owed these answers.""And I think our suspicions about all this, the evidence that we've gathered so far, is affirming what many of us feared maybe the worst … As Jamie Comer likes to say, 'Bank records don't lie.' We already have a lot of this evidence. The dots are being connected, and we'll see where it leads.
The impeachment inquiry was first launched by Johnson's predecessor, former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy , at the behest of conservative House members. There has since been a push to formally impeach Biden on the evidence already acquired, but the House Republican leadership has moved to hold off until more evidence is obtained.
