abc.net.au/news/sun-cable-mike-cannon-bookes-andrew-forrest-decision/102396072Billionaire Mike Cannon-Brookes has claimed control of the controversial Sun Cable solar export project, winning a bidding war with his former project partner, Andrew Forrest.
The pair, who are among Australia's richest men, have been in a closed door bidding process to wrestle control of the $30 billion project in the Northern Territory. Sun Cable's administrators say the company has now entered into a sale agreement with an entity connected to Mr Cannon-Brookes's Grok Ventures.
Under his control, it is likely the project will still pursue its original goal of exporting solar power from the outback of Australia to the island nation of Singapore.
