City Power's ongoing project to build a microgrid in Alexandra, Johannesburg, is on schedule and will supply electricity to 500 nearby households. The microgrid, powered by solar energy, aims to eliminate the impact of loadshedding on these households. However, City Power states that the project is more of a blueprint than a comprehensive solution for the nearly one million people living in Alexandra.

City Power , Johannesburg’s power infrastructure company, says that it’s ongoing project to build a microgrid to service the residents of the Alexandra region is still on schedule.
Despite a few delays, the microgrid will be turned on by the end of March.
