A ‘HYPER-REALISTIC’ flight simulator borrowed from the US Navy was used in a bid to work out where Malaysia Airlines flight 370 was after it disappeared, a resurfaced book reveals.

MH370 went missing on March 8, 2014, en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board. A group of investigators called The Independent Group pinned down their search area to a patch in the south Indian Ocean, helped by the technology. According to 2015 book ‘The Plane That Wasn’t There’, Mike Exner – a member of the group – secured himself four hours on the high tech system in November 2014.
