"Handa ang pamahalaan. Mayroon tayong mga nirentang bus, sa crossing, na 150 ang kasya," sabi ni De Vega sa panayam ng TeleRadyo Serbisyo. "Palagi kaming nakakarinig, any day now, baka magkaroon ng 24 hours na opening para lumusot 'yung mga foreigners," dagdag niya. Ayon pa kay De Vega, nasa maayos na kalagayan na ang 131 na Filipinong nasa Gaza. Karamihan umano sa mga ito may mga asawang Palestinian, kaya maaaring madagdagan o mabawasan ang bilang ng mga Filipino na magpapa-repatriate sa Pilipinas.

Nauna nang iniutos ng Department of Foreign Affairs ang mandatory repatriation ng mga Pilipino sa Gaza na nasa ilalim ng Alert Level 4 dahil sa digmaan sa pagitan ng Israel at Hamas.
