An ex-Facebook manager says she got Meta's layoff email at 5.35 a.m. while on maternity leave
Anneka Patel, a communications manager at Facebook,on November 14 that she was one of the thousands of employees affected by Meta's mass layoffs.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Patel managed communications for Meta's community products groups, which included Facebook groups.Patel's post garnered over 11,500 reactions and 560 comments in a week. Patel was included in Insider'sPatel, former director of communications at Eventbrite, said she was scheduled to be on maternity leave until February next year.
On November 9 Meta announced it would be cutting more than 11,000 employees, or about 13% of its workforce. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a blog post.
