In this era of AI, Mark Zuckerberg just announced a new Meta AI website. At the moment, the website is not available for Malaysians yet but here's what we know so far.
On his official Threads account, Meta AI is a new virtual assistant that can help and answer any questions across Meta's apps and glasses. Built upon the new state-of-the-art Llama 3 AI model, Meta believes this is its most intelligent AI assistant that everyone can use for free. The company is planning to integrate Meta AI into search boxes on top of WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Messenger.
Like other AI tools, Meta AI will be capable of animating photos but can do more. It can even update them or generate a playback video in real-time as you are typing. Mark also showed some performance benchmarks on his Threads post, comparing Llama 3 8B and 70B parameter models to the Llama 2 model and others.
The Meta AI will indeed be a big rival to ChatGPT by OpenAI, Copilot in Windows and Google Gemini. But since it's not available in Malaysia yet, we have yet to see its practical usage. However, the big change is that it will be making its way to the social platforms as aforementioned which can make a huge impact on how we use them as seen in the images above.
