In the wake of the dangers posed to people and properties by the recent toppling of electric posts in Binondo, Manila, the Manila Electric Company , Bureau of Fire Protection , and the Pasig local government are boosting inspections of utility poles in the city. Meralco, BFP, and the local government conducted a line clearing and cleaning operation in Barangay Pinagbuhatan.

The partnership between the three parties aimed to improve public safety for communities by fixing faulty equipment, especially in public spaces. Aside from these, they also set up coordination meetings with other telecommunications companies to address public safety concerns. Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos had earlier called for bolstered safety measures following the Binondo electric post incident.Meralco said the partnership has led to a joint inspection of utility poles and a meticulous line cleaning operation in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.
