Salahuddin Ayub berbaju Melayu dan berseluar hitam bersama Anwar Ibrahim , Dr Mahathir Mohamad dan Menteri Wilayah Persekutuan, Khalid Abdul Samad di Masjid Negara pada 5 Jun lalu.

Jemaah Majlis Diraja Johor menghantar sepucuk surat bertarikh 9 Jun kepada Menteri Pertanian dan Industri Asas Tani, Salahuddin Ayub.“Jemaah Majlis Diraja berharap Datuk sebagai anak Johor, mengambil perhatian kepada peraturan tersebut, seterusnya memelihara dan memartabatkan budaya Johor,” demikian menurut surat ditandatangani Yang Dipertua Jemaah Majlis Diraja Johor, Abdul Rahim Ramli.

Menerusi catatan berbeza pada hari sama, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim dilaporkan berkata, seluar hitam dipadankan baju Melayu Teluk Belanga ialah pakaian tradisi keluarga diraja Johor. “Itu fasal kita boleh lihat tiada orang dalam kerajaan pakai seluar hitam kerana hanya keluarga diraja atau kerabat damping yang boleh pakai atau layak pakai seluar hitam.
