Melaka will be the first state in Malaysia to officially observe a three-day public holiday for Hari Raya Aidilfitri starting in 2025. This replaces the Awal Ramadan public holiday, allowing for a longer Raya celebration.

This year, Hari Raya Aidilfitri in Melaka falls from 31 March to 2 April, giving residents an extended five-day break when combined with the weekend on 29 and 30 March. Awal Ramadan, which falls on 2 March, will remain a public holiday only in Johor and Kedah.
