Meghan Markle’s new lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard could already be in hot water with Buckingham Palace and the men in grey are reportedly keeping a close eye on how the former working royal is marketing the venture.
A royal insider has warned Meghan Markle’s new lifestyle brand could prompt Buckingham Palace to strip the Sussexes of their remaining titles over concerns the Duchess is cashing in on her royal name.However, according to trademark applications obtained by the Daily Mail, Meghan could also be planning to sell products as varied as make-up and body lotion, yoga mats, lavender sachets and even shampoo for pets.
The insider also revealed King Charles was displeased by Meghan’s new product line and “probably regrets” agreeing to grant the Sussex children royal titles. Arguments about former working royals “cashing in” on their titles have raged for decades since the divorce of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York in 1996.
