A new Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) was signed by officials of the Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) and the MCWD Employees Union (MEU) on Wednesday, May 10, 2023.

MCWD officials and its employees union signed a new CNA today. After the signing, union officers headed by President Samuel Suson pose for a photo with the Board of Directors and management led by Chairman Jose Daluz III , MCWD General Manager Edgar Donoso , BOD Vice Chairman Engr. Miguelito Pato , BOD Secretary Jodelyn May Seno , Board Members Atty. Danilo Ortiz , and Atty. Earl Bonachita .

The signing of the new CNA took place after a special meeting of the BOD on Wednesday. The same meeting was also attended by the water district’s top management and MEU officers. Donoso said he is grateful to the union, management, and members of the negotiation team for finally reaching a mutually beneficial agreement after 14 years.MCWD information officer Minerva Gerodias said both the management and the union have agreed to grant benefits that are with legal basis.

“Also included in the agreement is the conduct of continuing consultations on programs affecting the well-being of permanent employees, promotion of morale and increase of productivity that include health and medical; calamity assistance and assistance to retiring employees,” Gerodias said.
