A new rumor suggests a live-action CaptainCarter TV show could be in the works at Marvel Studios following the character's DoctorStrange2 appearance 👀😱🤞
According to a new rumor, Captain Carter is reportedly getting her own MCU live-action series following her big cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Since the start of Phase 4, the multiverse has become a significant component for Marvel Studios. As the concept of exploring alternative realities has gotten more popular over the last decade, it was only a matter of time before the MCU began to explore it in its later Phases.
Following the Spider-Man threequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness continued the trend by taking it to the next level. Directed by Sam Raimi, the latest Doctor Strange sequel follows Benedict Cumberbatch's titular hero as he goes deeper into the Multiverse, including portraying variants of his character. While the films have been focusing on the multiverse, so have Marvel Studios' Disney+ shows, which include the animated series What If...
It's imperative to note that as of right now, this is simply a rumor, as Marvel Studios and Disney+ have not confirmed a Captain Carter series. However, it wouldn't be unheard of if Kevin Feige & Co. were developing a standalone project for Atwell's character. This would also not be the first time the British star would headline her own Marvel series, as Atwell starred on ABC's Agent Carter show for 2 seasons.
If Captain Carter were to actually happen, it would be intriguing to see which iteration the series would actually follow. Despite her fate in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the show could still follow that Captain Carter variant's life before her death. However, it would seem more likely that Atwell's What If...? incarnation would be the character to drive Captain Carter.
