“Many are going out past the cut-off time with some even as late as midnight citing emergencies and the like to withdraw money in the late hours. So, ATM operating hours will be limited from 8am to 8pm.

Ismail Sabri: ATMs to only operate from 8am to 8pm, new SOPs for delivery during RamadanPETALING JAYA: Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) will only operate from 8am to 8pm to stop those who give excuses to the police they need to be out at midnight, says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri. There will also be a list of standard operating procedures (SOPs) on delivery during the fasting month of Ramadan during the movement control order (MCO) drawn up by the National Security Council soon. Ismail Sabri said this was to cater to some deliveries which have to be made for the pre-dawn meals (sahur) by Muslims who are fasting. 'The NSC has agreed to draw up SOPs for delivery during the fasting month,' said Ismail Sabri. Currently, deliveries by registered riders can only be made from 8am to 8pm. He also said that as much as he welcomes the volunteers from the community wanting to uphold the MCO to stop trespassers, he said they should work with the police. 'Involve the police so that unwanted incidents do not take place and they must not assume the powers of the police,' said Ismail Sabri during his daily briefing in Putrajaya on non-health matters of MCO.
