Pengerusi MCCF, Datuk Halim Ishak berkata, langkah itu adalah untuk membantu Jabatan Imigresen yang kurang berkesan dalam menghapus aktiviti-aktiviti sebegitu sejak sekian lama.

“Isu ketirisan dan rasuah yang melibatkan segelintir pegawai dan anggota Jabatan Imigresen di Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Kuala Lumpur bukanlah perkara baru. Sebelum ini, seorang menteri didakwa menceroboh masuk ke dewan ketibaan antarabangsa KLIA bagi mendesak Jabatan Imigresen membebaskan seorang pelawat dari China sehingga tular dalam media sosial.

Pada masa sama, Presiden Parti Demokratik Progresif itu mendedahkan, terdapat pegawai imigresen meminta wang sekiranya pelancong asing ditahan ingin dilepaskan.
