And the ability of each side to unify their parties and shape public opinion to avoid – or dispense – blame will be crucial.
GOP seeks to build pressure on Biden The speaker’s position ignores the fact that most Republicans had no problem raising the debt limit with no conditions when Trump was in the White House. It also doesn’t take into account the fact that the debt ceiling needs to be raised to pay for obligations already authorized by Congress – including under Republican presidents.
