KUALA LUMPUR: MCA is expected to hold its party elections at the national level in September, says Datuk Chong Sin Woon.
The MCA secretary-general said branch-level polls will be held on April 29 and 30, while the divisional-level election will be held on June 10 and 11.
Chong also said state-level polls for the Youth and Wanita wings are set for July and August, but with six state elections expected to be held in May and June, the party might have to make last-minute changes. “We have the dates for MCA's state-level polls, but we are keeping an eye out for the elections in six states, so we might adjust it,” he said during a press conference at Wisma MCA on Monday .“We will wait until the six state elections are over before setting a date for the elections,” he added.
Previously, the Pakatan Harapan presidential council decided not to dissolve the state assemblies of Penang, Selangor, and Negri Sembilan, while PAS also did not dissolve the state assemblies of Kelantan, Terengganu, and Kedah for the 15th General Election on Nov 19, 2022.Article type: free
