BALIK PULAU: Footage of a biker seen performing the “superman” stunt while approaching a traffic light at high speed along the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway has been going viral on social media.
Two short videos, one lasting six seconds and another nine seconds, showed two motorcyclists going at high speed in the footage that went viral early yesterday.According to the footage, a car was seen making a turn from the opposite direction, while the biker who was executing the stunt failed to decelerate and halt, resulting in a collision with the car.Muhammad Akid Mat Rozi, from Permatang Timbul, Balik Pulau, died on the spot during the 4.30am incident.
OCPD Supt Kamarul Rizal Jenal said initial investigations showed the incident occurred when the car was heading from Queens Waterfront towards Jalan Tengah. It had also been raining then. “The driver of the car turned right when the traffic light turned green and was suddenly struck by the motorcyclist from the opposite direction.
“The driver was injured on his left hand while the motorcyclist died at the scene,” he said in a press statement.“We are investigating the case under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act for reckless driving,” he said.
