Beliau berkata, Chong Wei memberi gambaran jelas kepada rakyat bahawa kejayaan datang daripada titik penyatuan bukannya perbezaan dan perpecahan.
"Beliau telah berjaya menyedarkan kita bahawa untuk maju dan berjaya, menyempitkan diri di dalam perbezaan bukanlah caranya. Dan tidak terkira juga betapa banyak kalinya kerana Lee Chong Wei, kita disatukan," katanya menerusi perkongsian status dalam Facebook. "Saya yakin, Merdeka ialah episod terbaik untuk kita sama-sama memaknai erti persaudaraan sesama kita semua. Merdeka menjadi bukti bahawa perpaduan itu telah wujud dan sentiasa menjadi tunjang kekuatan untuk kita bergerak ke depan," katanya.
Beliau juga menyatakan kekesalan terhadap situasi tersebut apabila segala penat lelah dan pengorbanannya dalam arena badminton dilakukannya demi negara.
