Thousands of homes and townhomes from builders such as D.R. Horton as well as commercial space are in the works just outside Fort Worth.

The city of Aledo could see the construction of hundreds of new homes as part of a 1,800-acre development between it and Fort Worth. An 1,800-plus-acre master-planned development with homes, townhomes and commercial space is in the works in Parker County, just outside Fort Worth.

Rick Levens, CEO of Levens Capital Partners, said the property could see the construction of 2,600 to 3,000 homes. This will be the firm’s first project in Dallas-Fort Worth after its developments in the Houston, Austin and San Antonio areas.A 238-acre portion of the project at the intersection of Bailey Ranch Road and FM 1187, previously part of the city of Fort Worth’s extraterritorial jurisdiction, will be annexed into the city of Aledo. Officials call it an “eastern gateway” into the city.

Aledo’s portion of the project will include about 325 single-family homes and 100 townhomes from D.R. Horton and other builders alongside an amenity center, a swimming pool, pocket parks and at least 35 acres of commercial development, according to the city. It could eventually connect to Aledo’s larger trail system.
