Huge crowds gathered on street corners, balconies and roofs Saturday in San Diego’s Hillcrest neighborhood to take in a summer favorite, the San Diego Pride parade.
COVID-19 “is kind of in the past now, and people want to see and be with each other,” said Beverly Fath, a spectator from Vista. “There are some friends I haven’t seen in two to three years. The vibe here is really good.” “What we’re seeing is pure hate,” said Laina Rubenstein of Oceanside, who attended Saturday’s parade. “I don’t know where all of it even comes from.”
