A massive bushfire in the Northern Territory is threatening the town of Tennant Creek as extreme weather conditions are predicted today. Authorities say this bushfire is one of the biggest bushfires they’ve ever battled in the Northern Territory, as it covers more than 9,300 square kilometres. There are major concerns for a potential wind change that would push the blaze towards the town of Tennent Creek. Extra resources have been brought in from interstate and the Australian Defence Force to help combat the blaze with fire breaks. Authorities are dealing with two wetter-than-usual wet seasons followed by a long hot dry season which is creating a huge fuel load for this fire.
