The Morning Ireland presenter has been was added to the IMRO Hall of Fame - She opens up about early mornings, her skillset as a journalist and she joked that there is always imposter syndrome going on
Mary Wilson found moving from Drivetime to Morning Ireland on RTÉ Radio 1 to be a gear shift, and she has ruled out a further move to The Nine O'Clock Show, the slot previously held by Ryan Tubridy.
"From another point of view, because I was returning to the newsroom, which is where I spent a lot of my years as a reporter and correspondent, it all felt very familiar. "I don’t think I am the person who should embrace the vast skill set that is needed to shoulder and helm a morning programme that comes between Morning Ireland and Today with Claire Byrne, which are heavy on news and current affairs.
She said: "I was surprised initially, I was saying ‘What? Me? Really?. And then I was really chuffed because it was my peers telling me they like what I have been doing career wise.
