Marvel gave an MCU villain Wolverine claws.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Warning! This article contains spoilers for Red Goblin #7 There are few villains in the MCU who wouldn’t benefit from having Wolverine’s claws as an addition to their deadly arsenals, but one particular bad guy would have arguably benefited the most if he had them in the movies.

Brock Rumlow aka Crossbones was a side character in the film Captain America: The Winter Soldier before becoming the first-act villain in Captain America: Civil War. In the MCU, Rumlow was an agent of Hydra covertly inserted into SHIELD, until his cover was blown in The Winter Soldier, forcing Rumlow and every other secret Hydra agent to come out into the light.

Crossbones’ Wolverine Claws Is A MAJOR Upgrade From The MCU In Red Goblin #7 by Alex Paknadel, Jan Bazaldua, and Rafael Pimentel, Crossbones is hired by the Goblin Nation to eliminate someone who’s a threat to their organization, someone who happens to be close with Normie Osborn aka the Red Goblin.

There isn’t a lot of pageantry surrounding Crossbones’ new weapon, nor is there any explanation behind its origin. In fact, it is basically only shown as just another one of his many weapons that he carries with him during any given mission, right there next to the aforementioned gun and knife. However, this upgrade is way more significant than the comic makes it out to be.

While Crossbones did have blades hidden inside his wrist gauntlets while fighting Captain America in the MCU, those were bulky, hard to maneuver, and fairly easy to remove. In this comic, it’s as if this blade is embedded directly into his skin, that’s how tightly controlled and covert the weapon is.
