Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles has offered up his explanation for why key information on RAAF special purpose flights is no longer being made public.
Defence last week finally released a tranche of documents relating to aircraft which were dispatched for politicians and dignitaries over a month than 12 month period.

Picture: Colin Murty Mr Marles has copped criticism for the level of expenditure but he said flights he has undertaken while in government have been in the national interest.
"And that work has, at its heart, our national interest. In the context of being Defence Minister clearly a lot of our interest lies beyond our shores.
