NSW Opposition leader Mark Speakman says the circumstances have changed since Dominic Perrottet stated his position on the Voice to Parliament.
Mr Speakman’s remarks come after it was revealed that the Coalition in New South Wales will not bind its members to a certain position on the Indigenous Voice to Parliament ahead of the referendum later this year.
“Premier Perrottet, as he then was, supported a Voice to Parliament in principle,” Mr Speakman told Sky News Australia. “What we now have is a proposal for a Voice to the executive as well, we’ve seen the detail of the wording.” He said he’s “sympathetic” to the idea of the Voice but has been concerned about the wording of the referendum.
