Marianne Williamson named her third campaign manager in just two months, following a number of recent resignations in her effort to revive her 2024 presidential campaign.
The news follows the departure of campaign manager Roza Calderon in late June, which came amid revelations accusing her of financial fraud by a California Democratic group in 2017.The progressive spiritual author on Friday said Carlos Cardona, who formerly headed Williamson's campaign as New Hampshire state director, will take over in her second bid for the white house.
“The decision to promote Carlos Cardona represents the campaign’s commitment to acknowledging precedent set in the Democratic primary season to allow the voters of the ‘first in the nation’ state to be heard,” Williamson announced in a statement. Williamson's first campaign manager, Peter Daou, announced he would be leaving his position, citing family responsibilities. With the majority of Democrats continuing to throw their support behind President Joe Biden, Williamson's bid for the nation's highest office is largely seen as a long shot.
