The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) said the Marcos administration is proactively enhancing foreign trade liberalization to enhance the quality of jobs available to Filipinos. | ManilaBulletin

At the Philippine Economic Briefing in Singapore, NEDA Secretary Arsenio M. Balisacan said that President Marcos has issued a decisive directive to bolster the country's bilateral and multilateral trade relationships.

“One thing that he [President Marcos] noticed was that among our ASEAN, our dynamic neighbors, the Philippines has the lowest number of bilateral trade relationships or multilateral,” he added.Last March 26, President Marcos pushed for the resumption of the Philippines-European Union FTA negotiations. Likewise, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership entered into force for Manila last June 2.

“Our unemployment that rate is very low, just like in the developed countries, but the quality of the employment is below par,” Balisacan said.
