PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcso Jr. said he was not surprised that his approval rating declined considering the sentiments of the public especially amid the surge in the price of rice.

“What's important to me is that we make sure that people have enough to eat and that it is affordable to them,” he added. Marcos' approval rating decreased from 80 percent in June 2023 to 65 percent in September, while Duterte’s went down from 84 to 73 percent. Among the controversial allotments under the proposed budget are the P5.77 billion for intelligence funds and P4.864 for confidential funds.
