PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday assured the public that the government is prepared in case residents would be required to evacuate due to the current activities of Taal and Mayon volcanoes.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the awarding ceremony of the Award for Promoting Philippines-China Understanding at the Manila Hotel, the President said the government is closely monitoring the status of both Taal and Mayon volcanoes.Mayon Volcano.
We have been watching both Mayon and Taal. Taal, it seems, is not in such a precarious, dangerous situation. Mayon is a little bit more advanced in terms of the– hindi pa naman lumalabas yung lava . If the lava flow starts, that's when we really have a disaster,' Marcos said during a media interview.The President assured the public that communities that could be affected are evacuated and given assistance.
