The increase in commodity prices slowed to 7.6 percent in March, according to the latest data released by the Philippine Statistics Authority .
PSA said among the 13 commodity groups, the continued downtrend of the overall inflation in March 2023 was mainly brought about by the heavily-weighted food and non-alcoholic beverages, which recorded a lower inflation rate of 9.3 percent from 10.8 percent in the previous month. Inflation in the National Capital Region also decelerated to 7.8 percent in March 2023 from 8.7 percent in February 2023. In March of the previous year, inflation rate in the area was recorded at 3.4 percent
